Garth Brooks Photos at The Rescue Party - Nashville 2010

Garth Brooks….The Rescue Party …Nashville 2010
By Butch Worrell

Garth Brooks came out of retirement to give back to the city of Nashville’s flood victims. In 5 days he performed 9 sold shows to 140,000 ecstatic fans, raising close to 5 million dollars. Joined by Trisha Yearwood, Steve Warnier, and his original touring band, Garth put on a series of incredible shows, showing that he still had the magic. I have never heard the crowd roar for a performer like they did for Garth night after night. His fans are unique in that they seemed to know the words to all his songs, at times he would ask the crowd to help him sing, and how they responded. Those who attended will talk about these shows for years to come, but if you didn’t make the shows the shows were filmed and there will be a DVD to see what you missed. I can’t wait to relive it myself.

Roger McGuinn and Brad Paisley at Lil Jimmy Dickens BDay party at the Grand Ole Opry!!

Roger McQuinn returned to the Grand Ole Opry after almost 40 years. The last time in the 60’s The Byrds were actually booed off the stage. This time hosted by Marty Stuart, Roger’s renditions of “You Ain’t going nowhere” and “Turn, Turn, Turn” received standing ovations. Also Brad Paisley showed up to celebrate Lil Jimmy Dickens 90th Birthday. A beautiful Saturday night Christmas show with Artist’s like Del McCoury signing Christmas songs.
