Fishbone ft. Angelo Moore

Angelo Moore with Fishbone

After being together for more than 30 years, the legendary ska funk fusion band Fishbone graced the stage of the Grey Eagle in Asheville this past Wednesday, February 20th. Even after all these years, they still had as much energy and as much bounce in their horns as they ever have. Despite their rotating arrangement of members over the years, there are still three of the original members in the band: Angelo Moore aka Dr. Madd Vibe on vocals and sax, John Norwood Fisher on bass and vocals, and "Dirty" Walter A. Kibby II on trumpet and vocals.

The Grey Eagle saw a fairly packed crowd that was absolutely pumped for the out-of-this-world cast of musical characters. Every single person in attendance was having pure unadulterated fun. Fishbone played all of their classic tracks and even played a magnificent cover of Sublime’s ska sensation, “Date Rape.”  Angelo Moore was pumped full of energy belting vocals between wailing jams on his saxophones and using seemingly karate moves on the Theremin.  Fishbone just finished their winter 2013 tour and have several festival appearances scheduled for this summer including Swamp Stomp, Topanga Days Festival, All Good Festival and Gathering of the Vibes.
