The first round of the 2016 Lockn' Festival lineup has just been announced, and people are in a rage.  The Lockn' Festival, which will be taking place August 25-28 near Arrington, Virginia , has become the smash hit to close out the summer festival season in recent years.   Having been known for having no overlapping sets, good vibes, and creative collaborations between musicians that can be seen nowhere else, it is easy to see why it has become a fan favorite.

Phish fans are rejoicing that the jamband powerhouse is headlining two nights, playing a total of four sets of music during the weekend.  Freshly back on the scene from a multi-year hiatus, the oddball Pennsylvania rockers known as Ween are also playing two of the nights.  Jim James and My Morning Jacket are also leading the headlining the event.  Oddly missing from the festivities this year so far are Widespread Panic, The String Cheese Incident, and any incarnation involving any member from the Grateful Dead.  Since the inception of Lockn' Festival in 2013, all of these bands especially the Grateful Dead have had a strong presence at the central Virginia festival headlining each year.  2015’s event featured every remaining member of the Dead playing in their respective bands separately.
Also playing this year is New Orleans funk band Galactic, who were disappointingly cut out of last year’s festival schedule due to a severe storm.  Keller Williams, The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, and Umphrey’s McGee are also returning this year for more action.  You will be sure to see musicians of all different backgrounds sitting in with each other, creating once in a lifetime performances that you will see nowhere else.

Lockn' Festival also features a wonderful craft village and delicious food options with an emphasis on local eats.  Festival goers can also swim in the swimming hole, play disc golf, attend workshops and yoga, and much more.  There is never a dull moment at Lock’n.

Stay tuned for more artist announcements.  General admission 4-day passes are now on sale for $299.  Ticket prices are going to go up so get yours now.
