Bob Weir Plays with The National at MusicNow Festival

Bob Weir played his Fireside Tour last week with The National at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati. This was truly a special night of music with two phenomenal bands playing together in unison. The place was sold out and the crowd was very pumped for a great night of music. MusicNow has become a great festival with rare performances. Tonight was no exception. Some highlights included Not Fade Away, Eyes of the World, Darkstar, Cassidy, and a Ripple Encore.

The Lumineers World Tour at US Bank Arena with Andrew Bird and Margaret Glaspy

The Lumineers are on their "Cleopatra World Tour" that made a stop at US Bank Arena last night. The openers were Margaret Glaspy followed by Andrew Bird. Last night was sold out. All three bands put on quite a performance. I haven't seen Andrew Bird or The Lumineers in several years and I was completely blown away. The band had great energy from start to encore. The Lumineers went into the middle of the arena and played on a riser above the crowd which seemed more intimate than just playing on the front stage. I didn't know the Lumineers had such a following, until last evening as the crowd was into every song that was performed. The band leaves here to play a few shows at Madison Square Gardens. With the passing of Butch Trucks another link to the music of the Allman Brothers band is gone. Yet the music does live on as was shown recently at the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga. There the Tedeschi Trucks band and the Jack Pearson Trio delivered a show that demonstrated that the torch has been passed to very capable hands.
