RJD2 is back on tour which started one day after releasing his new album, The Colossus. This is RJD2’s 10th year creating albums and this project is a showcase of his various styles of music. RJ Krohn is now performing with a band including Harold Happy Chichester on keyboards, Sam Brown on drums and Dereck Dicenzo.

At The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on January 20, 2010 RJD2 performed both solo mixing his custom made sounds.

RJ Krohn has explained that his approach to his latest project was to include a collaboration of several musicians and vocalists. RJD2’s new album features Phonte Coleman (Little Brother, Foreign Exchange), Kenna (Star Trak, VA Beach), Aaron Livingston (The Roots’ Guns Are Drawn), Columbus MC’s The Catalyst, Illogic, and NP, and a slew of instrumentalists. The tracks compile RJD2’s most diverse work yet. RJ Krohn reached out to performers on his Rolodex as needed to get the sounds as wanted for the project as needed.

RJD2’s January 20th visit to The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC brought out a near thousand people. The largely under 21 crowd braved the frigid mountain weather to dance.

The String Cheese Incident after a break performing together in early 2009, rejoined together to perform at last summer's Rothbury Festival (The String Cheese Incident at Rothbury)  SCI put on a blazing late night performance at Rothbury and had aerial artist and an awesome lighting show. 

String Cheese Incident now back together for 2010 Incidents with Michael Kang (acoustic/electric mandolin, electric guitar, and violin), Michael Travis (drums and percussion), Bill Nershi (acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar, and electric slide guitar), Kyle Hollingsworth (piano, organ, Rhodes, and accordion), and Keith Moseley (bass guitar)

The String Cheese Incident performance at Rothbury Festival has invigorated the band to rejoin forces again for the summer of 2010. New Incidents are scheduled for the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrision, Colorado in late July with a three night run. String Cheese will also perform a two night run at Horning's Hideout in Oregon a few days later.

4-Day Music + Camping Pass - $178.50
4-Day Music + Camping Pass (Kids 6-12) - $89.25
Children 5 and under are free.
All tickets include 4 days and nights of music and camping. All tickets must be redeemed for a 4-Day wristband, which is to be worn at all times throughout the weekend. The wristband is required to enter the amphitheatre, and to leave and re-enter the festival site during operating hours.
Kids tickets are only available by calling 866-455-BAND.
All tickets are General Admission. You will be directed to a specific parking spot on site, and you will likely be able to camp at or near your car. If you wish to camp and park with a friend in another vehicle, then please coordinate before arriving at the festival location.

RV Pass - $100.00 RV Pass required vehicles are defined as any large recreational vehicle (over 20 feet). Any van, box truck, or similar vehicles less than 20 feet do not need an RV Pass. If you plan to bring an RV then you need to purchase an RV Pass in advance. Space is limited and the pass will be required for your vehicle to enter the site. All RV occupants must have a 4-Day Music + Camping Pass.

Willie Nelson Hand Injury After Bust in Kenansville, NC Delays Tour - Asheville, North Carolina Show Postponed

Willie Nelson's bass player Dan Edward "Bee" Spears and 5 others were cited for marijuana and/or moonshine charges by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Officers while Willie Nelson's tour bus was parked outside the Kenansville, NC venue where Wille Nelson & Family were scheduled to perform yesterday evening.

At the same time, Willie Nelson's left hand began to hurt him.  His left hand was operated on in 2006 to treat carpel tunnel syndrome. Willie has asserted through his publicist and his daughter that it is because of his injured had that the shows have been postponed. 
Willie Nelson's concert in Asheville is being rescheduled with new date to be announced soon.  With the half foot of snow and icy conditions expected tonight in the mountains of North Carolina, postponing tonight's show was not a bad idea.

The 2010 Rothbury Festival has been canceled.  Organizers cite the scheduling of many top bands were conflicting preventing the festival from creating another stellar lineup.

Rothbury Festival event producers Madison House Presents and AEG Live are planning on contuing Rothbury Festival in 2011.  Madison House Presents’ Jeremy Stein explained, “The result for this year is that we are not able to move forward with the integrity and high standards that we demand from ourselves and for the festival.”
