Galactic just keeps outdoing themselves in bringing the best New Orleans funk experience to the masses. Galactic is featuring Erica Falls as their current vocalist and this girl has "it." As a backup vocalist for Sting, John Fogerty, and several other international touring artists, it's great to hear her in the spotlight and out in front. When she is in New Orleans, she also fronts for the legendary Allen Toussaint. As a not so distant relative of Fats Domino, Erica has what is takes to do whatever she wants in the music industry. Galactic is of course the perfect band to back this rising talent as they played all their classics and some NOLA standards. Galactic is on tour all over the U.S. and will be performing several sets at Jazz Fest in a few weeks. Also check out The Record Company out of Los Angeles for some great garage filled blues.

Steve Kimock's Jerry Garcia Tribute Show makes Magic

It was Friday, March 13, a day many
would consider unlucky. But the Jerry Garcia Tribute Band proved the
opposite. In fact for legendary bass player Bobby Vega it was the
luckiest of days, for that day he married Allison. The sun shined
bright that day on their wedding and that aura continued on to the
Band's show that night. The show was sold out, for the word was out,
this band is a must see.

Willie Nelson & Family graced Western North Carolina
this past February with an amazing night of his brand of rebellious country
music at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Event Center. Willie Nelson is an American icon who is
known as a philanthropist and activist for marijuana and animal rights. The sold out venue contained 3,000 fans eager
to see Willie perform with his trusted guitar, Trigger, and his family
band. Nelson’s band included his sister, Bobbie
Nelson on piano, his son Lukas on guitar, and Kevin Smith on upright bass. The show was full of classic Nelson
songs including “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”.

Gregg Allman at Harrah's Cherokee Casino

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, the only casino in Western North
Carolina, hosted a night with Gregg Allman on beautiful January night in the
mountains. Harrah’s Casino Resort is a
spectacular venue for a show. They have
all of the casino games you could ever want to gamble on: craps, roulette,
slots, poker; Harrah’s has it all. Their
3,000 person capacity event center is quite decadent, and the room full of fans
was delighted to be able to see one of the founding members of one of the most
influential southern rock jambands of all time: The Allman Brothers.
