Kevin Fowler at Cowboys Dance Hall - March 19, 2011

Kevin Fowler is one of country music's "bad boys". Not in the sense that he gets in trouble, but his music has a kick ass attitude that combines country and rock in a way that leaves you wanting more. He plays to the crowd with humor and the southern attitude that Texas musicians are known for. Never boring, this concert was almost 3 hours of non-stop entertainment. I'm not dead yet.

In February of 2010 rumors began to spread that Gordon Lightfoot had passed away. " I was quite surprised to hear it myself ". Lightfoot went on to say " I haven't so much airplay in weeks. Gordon Light was at the dentist at the time the news released and heard it on the radio on his way home.

Gordon Lightfoot and his band played at The Hershey Theater in Hershey Pa. this past Friday. Beginning his career in coffee house's in Toronto Ontario in 1962 this was his first time in Hershey Pa and performed 2 50 min sets with a 2 song encore. He switched back and forth with his 12 string and 6 string guitars.

Performing many of their hits over the years such as Early Morning Rain, If You Could Read My Mind, Sundown, Carefree Highway, Rainy Day People and The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald.

Lightfoot talked about the loss of his long time guitarist Terry Clements who had been with him for over 40 years. Other band members included Rick Haynes (1969) on bass, Barry Keane (1976) on drums, Mike Heffernan (1981) 0n keyboards and Cater Lancaster who is now on guitar.

Toronto, Canada based World Celtic rock band -  Enter the Haggis performed March 10, 2011 at the 925-seat Waterville Opera House, booked by Sweet People Productions.  Affectionately known as "ETH" and well versed in performing in Northern New England's many opera houses , Enter the Haggis is touring in support of the band’s new album Gutter Anthems. Being Irish blooded I was inspired to create photographs of their performance leading up to St. Patrick's Day later this same week. Photographs by Conall O'Brien.
