Jan.4, 2015
Nashville, TN.

Review and Photos by Butch Worrell of One Heart Photo

Saturday Night at the Grand Ole Opry has always been special for Country Music. The first Saturday night of 2015 saw the Oldest member, Jimmy Dickens, memorialized after his death Jan.2nd and what may soon be the youngest member, Emi Sunshine (rumors are flying that this will happen) closing the show with Marty Stuart.

Marty Stuart tears the Franklin Theatre down!!

By Butch Worrell

That’s right! When Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives throws a party they tend to tear it up and down. So it was no surprise when they threw a CD release party for his new CD, “Nashville, Volume 1, Tear the Woodpile down” that they tore it up, down, and sideways.

Marty Jams with Dolly Parton, Mel Tillis and more at the Ryman!!

By Butch Worrell

Marty threw a party for his 10th annual Late Night jam, inviting his old time friends and raising more than $30,000 for MusiCares, including some to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Marty and his Fabulous Superlatives hosted Mel Tillis, Dolly Parton , Doug Kershaw, Ricky Skaggs, Duane Eddy, Connie Smith, The Quebe Sisters Band, Doug Kershaw and my favorite, Lorrie Carter Bennett. The daughter of Anita Carter, she sang Ring of Fire the way her Mom did to a great round of applause. It was a wonderful night, seeing Dolly et al perform at the Ryman. And where would Marty be without Eddie Stubbs to announce. Thank you Marty for all you do for country music, not just bringing us super stars like Dolly and Mel but introducing us to the roots of country music with artists like Lorrie.
