Big Gigantic at Bogarts
Big Gigantic played a rocking dance party at Bogarts last week. This show was all energy with a fabulous light show. Big G is another band that is gaining incredible momentum and getting placed very high up the lineup train on this year's festival circuit. Check them out this summer at one or several of the festivals they are headlining.

Pearl Jam Blows the Roof Off of Bon Secours Arena in SC
Pearl Jam came to Greenville, South Carolina for an epic 3 hour and 45 minute performance with over 30 songs on the bill. Not only that, but for the first time in a long time, they played all of their second album, Vs, from front to back!! The crowd was very active and this show proved once again why this band headlines festivals and has been named a top ten live act of any band on tour. Check out Pearl Jam at Bonnaroo and New Orleans Jazz Fest this year, or one of their many tour stops..See more of my photos and band info at PearlJam.com. Below click "Read More" to see a setlist and general write up of the show from the band's management...highlights included Comfortably Numb, Dissident, Future Days, Baba O'reilly and other rarities.

Drum Lovers Unite for Mickey Hart
![]() |
Mickey Hart |
Returning to Asheville, North Carolina’s famous musical
venue and social club, The Orange Peel, was one of the founding percussionists
of the Grateful Dead, Mickey Hart. The
heavy rhythm and percussion oriented Mickey Hart Band came through in a rolling
thunder, playing to a packed out club with Deadheads from all over and of all
ages. The current lineup for the Mickey
Hart Band is Mickey on percussion, Crystal Monee Hall on vocals, Joe Bagale on
guitar and keys, Reed Mathis on bass guitar, Gawain Matthews on guitar, Sikiru
Adepolu on the talking drum and other percussion, Greg Schutte on Drums and
Jonah Sharp on keys. Mickey Hart has
spent much of his life studying music from all over the world, and it shows in
his versatile range of skills in different types off percussion including
djembes of all sizes, cowbells, and digital drum machines.

Heart @ the Biltmore Estate
Heart took a pause from their Heartbreaker tour to perform an "Evening With Heart" show at the historic Biltmore Estate, which is nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. The show couldn't have taken place on a more perfect evening, with the sun setting during the opening songs, creating a fireworks show in the sky that nearly matched the fireworks happening on stage.

ZZ Top: La Futura Tour
ZZ Top brought their bluesy-rock sound to the Tennessee Theatre on May 21st. They were touring on their La Futura album, which is their first album in nine years. It's hard to believe that they have been touring together for over 40 years now, but it certainly showed on this night! The chemistry between the band was apparent and on display for all to see. They seamlessly burned through the set list with ease and prowess.

Colin Hay Gets Back to Work
![]() |
Colin Hay |
Colin Hay, the front man from the Australian 1980’s super-group, Men at Work, made a
performance at the 2012 Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. He played three shows
during this monster of a festival, hosting upwards of 80,000 festival goers over the course of four days.
His short 30 minute set on the Solar Stage on Friday, June 8th is seen below in the photos. It captured a
smaller crowd for those willing to brave the mid-afternoon sun. Everyone who thought they would get
their retro music fix from a full blown energetic Men at Work concert was dead wrong.

Brantley Gilbert: Hell On Wheels Tour
Hell on Wheels is Brantley Gilbert's first tour as a headliner. After writing songs that have vaulted other artists to fame before him and touring relentlessly for the last 5 years, it was Brantley's turn to be in the limelight. He came out to "My Kinda Party", a song he wrote for Jason Aldean, and never let up for the remainder of the show. Brantley demonstrated to the packed house at Freedom Hall that he was more than capable of being the main attraction.
