Fans of truly conscious music and art will rejoice at the return of third The Mad Tea Party Jam presented by Appalachian Jamwich.  Taking place amid the astounding beauty of Hedgesville, WV, from June 19-21 this one of a kind festival is sure to rock your socks off.  The Mad Tea Party Jam features some of the best talent in the jam band and electronic scene today.  Along with their Asheville, NC based headliner Popadosio, The Mad Tea Party Jam features talent from all over the country including Dopapod, The Werks, The Mantras, and New York based sensations TAUK and Consider the Source along with many more.  Many of the bands will play two nights.

An evening of Jerry’s music celebrated through a mixture of Warren Haynes magical guitar work and The North Carolina Symphony’s classical interpretation of some of America’s most Iconic music.  The evening started with a lovely pre equinox day of sunshine and cool breezes, the Red Hat Amphitheater filled steadily in anticipation of the evenings mysterious pairing, with a crowd that ran the gamut of Jerry Garcia followers, Warren Haynes fans and Symphony regulars, all mixed together in an evening gown, tie-dyed swirl of joy. Magic was in the air as the house music quieted down and led by Albert-George Schram, conductor for the North Carolina Symphony, the sounds of symphonic tunings poured into the excited crowd, paired with the all-star bands instrument adjustments.

PHISH at Madison Square Garden - 12.28.12

Kicking off their “almost” annual New Years run at Madison Square Garden, Phish appeared for their 24th show at the venerated arena on December 28th.  From the first notes of opener Stealing Time From The Faulty Plan through to the closing cover of Zepplin’s Good Times Bad Times, Anastiasio and band mates delighted fans with a strong, rousing night of music.  People familiar with MSG know that the structure is actually a suspended bowl, and at several points during the night the arena could be felt literally “jumping” to the music.
