Emi made her debut at Sam's Place, Music for the Spirit, hosted by Steven Curtis Chapman at the Ryman Auditorium. If an artist's star shines from the goodness in their heart then the artists she shared the stage with that night are the brightest stars of all.

Willie Nelson and Family at Harrah's Cherokee Casino

Willie Nelson
Willie Nelson
Willie Nelson & Family graced Western North Carolina this past February with an amazing night of his brand of rebellious country music at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Event Center.  Willie Nelson is an American icon who is known as a philanthropist and activist for marijuana and animal rights.  The sold out venue contained 3,000 fans eager to see Willie perform with his trusted guitar, Trigger, and his family band.  Nelson’s band included his sister, Bobbie Nelson on piano, his son Lukas on guitar, and Kevin Smith on upright bass.  The show was full of classic Nelson songs including “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”.

Johnny Cash Birthday Bash at the Johnny Cash Museum

March 2, 2015
Nashville, TN.

Review and Photos by Butch Worrell of One Heart Photo

The Johnny Cash Museum hosted Johnny Cash's family and friends to a celebration of his life in honor of his Birthday. Bill and Shannon Miller (founders/owners) have created a museum that is so very special and did a terrific job of putting together the show. A special touch was the delicious strawberry cake, just like Johnny liked.

Marty Stuart…he is the heart of Country Music

By Butchie (Butch Worrell)
     Nashville, TN

Once the King of Country music was Roy Acuff, then Porter Waggoner succeeded him. Now the true King of country is Marty Stuart. Not just because he is a great instrumentalist, or a great vocalist, or even a great songwriter, it is because his heart is the biggest and the best.

Willie Nelson & Family 80th Birthday Tour

Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson, the famed actor, author, country musician, and activist honored the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tennessee on Thursday, April 4th, 2013. Considering that his 80th birthday is coming up on April 30th, Willie still has more energy and talent than 99% of all other musicians out there today. Aside from his music, Willie is probably best known as an activist for the reform of cannabis laws and the use of hemp and biodiesel as an energy source. He has been doing this for the better part of forty years, since long before marijuana was widely accepted for medical treatments or even popular. Willie Nelson's strong stage presence affirms his cannabis use has had no detrimental effect on his health and ability.

Kenny Rogers Spanning Generations at Bonnaroo

Kenny Rogers

One of the best things about Bonnaroo Music festival is the variance in the acts that you can witness over the course of one weekend. You can go from the jam bands and the electronica to more classical country acts such as the likes of Kenny Rogers, who played early evening in the “Other Tent” on Sunday, June 10th. Regardless of whether or not you are a fan of country/western music, you have to give it up for a superstar like Kenny Rogers, who has been in the musical spotlight for almost fifty years. Over the course of an hour and 15 minutes, he crooned out all of his hits from the course of his career. This
show drew an audience that you don’t see at most music festivals today. It was an interesting blend of older ladies and gentlemen wearing their cowboy hats as a tribute to this music legend and typical drunk music festival goers. What was even more astonishing took place later that evening during the
headlining act of the weekend: Phish. Kenny Rogers got on stage with the mega jam band to play Rogers’s song, “The Gambler”. Lionel Richie came out to perform with Kenny Rogers during his day set.

Darius Rucker

I had gotten my pass to shoot Lady Antebellum at one of their sold - out shows.
Opening was Darius Rucker and Thompson Square - I had never seen Hootie and the Blowfish, or Darius on his current country tour.

Rosanne Cash Lights Up Broadway - Beacon Theater, New York. Shares Bill with the Jayhawks - Images and Article by Bill Kelly

Drawing from a deep well of country, rock pop and blues tradition, Rosanne Cash played a warm, career-spanning set in front of a sell out crowd at New York’s Beacon Theater. Many of the evening’s selection were from her 2009 release“The List”, based on a list of 100 essential country songs given to her by her father. Raised by her mother in California, Cash was basically unaware of her birth right, trying acting and traveling abroad until joining her father on tour as a wardrobe assistant. Over time, Cash was influenced by Johnny, but developed a writing style uniquely her own.  Cash brought that broad set of musical diversity to the Beacon show,  covering Dylan’s “Girl From the North Country” and a wonderful version of the old Bobby Gentry hit “Ode To Billy Joe”.
Like much of Cash’s writing, the show was autobiographical and introspective, the story of a child of Country royalty at home in New York.  She managed to bring the warmth of traditional music and rebellion of rock and hard country into the same set.  As the audience cheered at the close of her set, she turned and thanked the crowd, remarking that it was “Great to be home”.

Eli Young Band CD release party

When the Eli Young Band throws a CD release party, they really throw a party. Playing to an overpacked house at Cowboy's Dancehall in San Antonio, from the moment the took the stage until the end of the night, they kept the crowd rockin'! The show was definitely high engery entertainment. The group jumped all over stage, the drummer Chris Thompson, flailed his arms around his head and never dropped a stick, and lead singer Mike Eli totally engaged with the crowd, there was never a dull moment. There were amazing opportunities for some great shots.

The Cody Johnson Band, Texas Music

Cody Johnson and The Cody Johnson Band are a "country" music group and part of the Texas music scene. Playing all over Texas, they have a great show replete with your typical country music, to include a fiddle, because "if your gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band," but they also rock the crowd pretty hard with some great guitar riffs and some rockin drum beats. You know it's going to be a great show when the crowd is already screaming even before the act takes the stage, and this was no exception. If you've not heard of them before, check them 0ut. You will not be disappointed.

Cory Morrow at Cowboys Dance Hall

Country and Western musician Cory Morrow worked the crowd and Cowboys Dance Hall in San Antonio, Texas on March 4. Part of what's called the "Red Dirt" music scene, Morrow is a highly sought, energetic musician who doesn't disappoint. From performing in bare feet to using a mini trampoline to get from the upper stage down to the main stage, the fun loving Morrow keeps the crowd engaged throughout the entire show.
