Returning to the “Mother Church” of Americana where he had just received a Lifetime Achievement award the month before, Bob performed his “Campfire Tour” show to a sold out show of fans.
This was the culmination of Bob's 2 day visit to Nashville. Night one was what will be for ever known as a legendary sit in with his “50th Fare Thee Well” band mate Trey at the Phish show. The next day Bob shopped at Carter Vintage Guitars and picked up a Gretsch “Chet Atkins” model #6120. He also stopped in at the famous “clothier” to the stars, Manuel's, shop and picked out a custom blue cowboy shirt, both of which made an appearance at his Ryman Auditorium show that night.

Steve Kimock's Jerry Garcia Tribute Show makes Magic

March 19, 2015
Music City USA

Story and Photos by Butch Worrell of One Heart Photo

It was Friday, March 13, a day many would consider unlucky. But the Jerry Garcia Tribute Band proved the opposite. In fact for legendary bass player Bobby Vega it was the luckiest of days, for that day he married Allison. The sun shined bright that day on their wedding and that aura continued on to the Band's show that night. The show was sold out, for the word was out, this band is a must see.

Steve Kimock with Bernie Worrell, Wally Ingram, and Andy Hess

Bernie Worrell and Steve Kimock
Steve Kimock with Bernie Worrell, Wally Ingram, and Andy Hess performed together this summer including
a stop at The Grey Eagle in Asheville, North Carolina.  The small club was packed to see the
four musicians with diverse musical backgrounds.  Steve Kimock brought a large array of
guitars including one pedal steel and switched offed frequently.  The quartet melded well with
Kimock singing melodies with his fingers.  Wally Ingram stayed sharp on drums despite the
thick hot air in the back of the club by the stage.  Andy Hess put down a subtle yet heavy-toned
bass.  Bernie Worrell, a true living legend, burned a funky twist into the jams that kept the feet
moving.  Seeing such a barrage of talent combine for summer night of entertainment was a
great treat for those who came.

Interview with Steve Kimock 4 May 2012
Interview by  Conall O'Brien

Steve Kimock, John Morgan Kimock ZERO NY, NY 2007

Steve Kimock is touring in 2012 for the first time in many years. Beginning in early May,  joining Steve will be  Bernie Worrell on keys (Parliament Funkadelic, Talking Heads), drummer Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow, David Lindley), and bassists Andy Hess (Gov’t Mule, Black Crowes) and Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green, SKB).

Creating images of artists is the primary focus at Concert Photos Magazine, however when the offer was made to do a phoner with Steve we eagerly jumped at the opportunity.
The second portion of  the taped interview is being transcribed and to be published with photo recap article of next Saturday 12 May 2012 show in Portland, ME.

Steve Kimock 2012 Tour dates here .

CO: We bumped into each other at Yoshi’s nightclub in Oakland (CA), when you were playing with Henry Kaiser and Bob Bralove,(ed- 1998 Bob Bralove's Second Sight, with Henry Kaiser
and Steve Kimock. ) we were both out having a smoke on the sidewalk. You quit smoking cigarettes, correct?

SK: Yes, although I still want a cigarette every 10 or 15 secs…

Mighty High Mountain Festival

The fourth annual Mighty High Mountain Festival took place on May 20-22 in Tuxedo, New York at the Tuxedo Ridge at Sterling Forest Ski Resort.  The festival was a great time on Saturday night.  Despite a mild rain in the early afternoon, the late spring night in the hills of New York was great festival weather.  David Nelson and New Riders of the Purple Sage rocked out the later afternoon to a good size crowd but the place was far from packed.  Steve Kimock brought Zigaboo Modeliste of The Meters, Henry Butler, and Andy Hess formerly of Gov't Mule with him billed as Steve Kimock & Friends.  After an earlier evening run on Friday, Dark Star Orchestra was last to perform on Saturday night and they rocked the mountain slope.
