BRUCE - MetLife Stadium 9/22-23 Happy Birthday Boss

Images and article by Bill Kelly

 63 years old.
When most of us think of this milestone, images of quiet family dinners,  maybe a round of golf and, if lucky enough, pop a little blue pill and try your luck with the Mrs.  But not Bruce Springsteen - Playing before a sold out crowd that had waited through a 2+ hour rain delay, Bruce took the stage at home state New Jersey’s MetLife stadium and powered through a 33 song set, hitting the last note at 2:00am.

Bruce Springsteen Tickets - Ticketmaster Letdown

As fans sat prepared and anxious as tickets went on sale today for Bruce Springsteen's We Take Care of Our Own tour, many were sent error messages or delayed as tickets were selling by the thousands. Many were left out in the cold only to learn they were the victims of professional ticket scalpers that orchestrated at least one crippling attack on Ticketmaster's online sales system. Bruce Springsteen posted a note to fans on his site also directing his message to Ticketmaster.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band - Bonnaroo Photos

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed across the globe in 2009 on their Working on a Dream world tour.  The Boss brought his full band to perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.  Bruce Springsteen's show had the other 5 main stages closed.  100,000 music fans filled the field in front of What Stage to see his historic 4 1/2 hour long performance.

Bruce Springsteen stuck around Bonnaroo to perform with Phish a day later on June 14.  It was obvious that Bruce Springsteen loved being at Bonnaroo and his performance was full of soul.  His huge heart could be heard through his soulful voice which roared emotion.

Joined by Steven Van Zandt, Max Weinberg, Clarence Clemons, Roy Bittan, Garry Tallent, Patti Scialfa, Soozie Tyrell & rest of the E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen put on a memorable performance that was one of Bonnaroo's best!

Phish with Bruce Springsteen at Bonnaroo

What will definitely be remembered as one of the top musical moments of the summer if not the decade, Bruce Springsteen stood in should to shoulder with Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon as he performed Mustang Sally and Glory Days with Phish. It was absolutely insane, it had all the elements of a summer blowout performance, an awesome choice of tunes, perfect weather, a huge crowd a rare performance with a rarer guest star performer following four days of amazing performances. Bonnaroo once again spared no expense making the 10 staged festival a seemless party that is certain to be the "time of their life" for many.
