Guns were blazing in Greensboro!
By Douglas White cerberusphotos.com

The historic Cone Denim theatre in downtown Greensboro, NC roared to life Saturday night, 13 July 2019. The L.A. Guns took to the stage in support of their new album
"The Devil you know".
If you're not aware, L.A. Guns have been around with various members, including Axel Rose (playing under his real name William Bailey), since 1983. Traci Guns and lead singer Phil Lewis, (most recently of the "Girls") have performed together off & on since 1987. Their collaboration has produced two Gold records and has sold over six and a half million albums. The Guns lineup has changed more than a professional hockey team. To say that the relationships have been tumultuous is an understatement. Thankfully Lewis & Guns have reunited to create an album that shows neither  has let age hamper their talents. It's only enhanced them.

Dead & Company at The Gorge in George, WA on June 7 and 8, 2019

Here Comes Sunshine

When Dead and Company announced their summer tour it was surprising there were no Canadian dates. Just kidding; it would be a surprise if there were. Dead and Company includes some of the Grateful Dead original members: Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart; joining them are John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti and Oteil Burbridge.
Being a Pacific Northwest resident (from Canada), it was an easy decision to attend the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington for the Friday June 7th and Saturday June 8th shows, even though the Pacific Northwest is known for cold rain and sometimes snow. We got lucky with warm days and cool nights.

Don Felder Rocks The Eagles Hits

Disney Epcot
Orlando, FL
By Michael Yanko
Rock Legends Photographers

The Garden Rocks Concert Series, hosted by Disney Epcot, brings top talent to central Florida in a beautiful mini amphitheater type setting.

On this particular night Don Felder of The Eagles fame was the star, and star he did! Backed by very talented musicians/back up vocalists David Myhre on guitar, bassist Jeff Coffe, keyboardist Timothy Drury, and Chris Ralles on drums, the band was tight and did a wonderful job sounding as close to the original The Eagles music as possible. Felder's vocals are still very strong and his guitar playing is still top notch.

Collective Soul Rocks West Florida Again!

4-19-19
by Michael Yanko
When you find yourself driving three and a half hours to go see a band that you just saw less than a year ago you must have thought they were something special. Collective Soul is one of those bands, and once again they did not disappoint.
Collective Soul in Clearwater Florida

The beautifully restored vintage Capitol Theatre in downtown Clearwater was totally sold out. It seemed like every person there knew exactly what to expect and the anticipation was high even outside standing in line.

Once the performance started I don't think the total time that people sat down was more than ten seconds very early in the night. Seeing the band as a stand alone act was a special treat after only having seen them wedged between two other bands last year.

Bob Weir and Wolf Bros Tropical Tuesday Tour in Miami Beach

They say hard work pays off.  Bob Weir is embracing this motto on several fronts.  Particularity, with his tackling tour schedule with 19 shows performed in March, and 21 total in his band's spring tour which ran from February 28 to March 30, not counting the May 3rd date at BeachLife Festival.  On another front, Mr. Weir, at 72, has been posting some impressive exercise videos to his artist Facebook page, showing him and Wolf Bros drummer Jay Lane making steady use of gyms along the tour.
Bob Weir and Wolf Bros at The Fillmore Miami Beach

Miami Beach was vibrant and hospitable, with impressive architecture and art at each turn.  Prominent integrations of culture took forms in murals, sculptures, facades, and landscaping.

A Bowie Celebration

Capitol Theatre
Clearwater, FL

I am a huge Bowie fan so when I heard about a Bowie tribute at one of our favorite venues, I was all in. As we got closer to the date I found out that this wasn't just your ordinary tribute band. The members were mostly made up of musicians that performed, recorded, and co-wrote with David Bowie!

The show consisted of many Bowie hits with some deeper cuts mixed in as well as "All the Young Dudes" which was a crowd favorite.

Candlebox Rocks Central Florida 25 Years After Their Debut Release

March 13, 2019

The Plaza Live
Orlando, Florida

by Michelle Wilson of Rock Legends Photographers

90s post-grunge rockers Candlebox brought their explosive show to a packed house at The Plaza Live in Orlando this past week, and they have never sounded better. "Florida has always been a good state for Candlebox," said frontman Kevin Martin. He is the only original member but has been supported by the same tight band for a few years now. The band's monster, self-titled first record was released in 1993, and they have been touring to honor their masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Even Martin is amazed. "I can't believe this record survived 25 years. I'm about to turn 50. It's freakin' me out!" Backed by guitarists Brian Quinn and Island Styles, bassist Adam Kury and drummer Dave Krusen, the Seattle darlings played a 90-minute blazer to a venue of adoring fans.

Dead & Company Playin' In The Sand#2 Jan 17 - 20 2019 in Riviera Maya, Mexico - photos and review

Sunshine Daydream

Dead and Company played their first gig of the year, at the destination event Playing in the Sand (Round 2) from January 17th– 20th in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The band includes three original Grateful Dead members: singer/guitarist Bob Weir, drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart along with singer/guitarist John Mayer, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and bassist Oteil Burbridge. John Mayer dressed in the usual trendy wares and barefoot Bob Weir wore his uniform of cropped cargo pants and cutoff muscle shirt showing his guitar guns to the delight of his female fans.

Tickets to this all-inclusive concert vacation went on sale August 20th for Deadheads who attended the 2018 Playing in the Sand and the general public sale started on August 22nd. The excitement was building for months! The unique concert venue was right on the Caribbean, providing a picturesque backdrop for the special event.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra Rockin' the Opera

The rock opera is alive and well;

December 11 in Greensboro, North Carolina the Trans-Siberian Orchestra played the first of two shows in one evening. Scheduled to play Sunday, Dec. 9, they had to delay due to the severe snow storm that hit the east coast. Trans-Siberian Orchestra has been playing seasonal operas to sold-out crowds around the globe. With multiple Platinum-selling albums (10 million units worldwide) they've brought their rock operas to more than 100 million people in eighty plus cities over a twenty year period. Regularly performing up to ten shows in a six-day period, featuring elaborate stage and light shows. With over three dozen alternating musicians, of similar appearance, backup singers, storytellers, and a small seven-person string orchestra drawn from local talent in every city. They leave crowds in awe with over the top performances that last up to two hours and sets that include massive disappearing stages, numerous laser and light banks. Smoke machines, multiple rows of pyro, spark ejectors and massive projection screens round out the $ twenty million dollar production that is equaled only by Pink Floyd.
