Jackie Greene brought his acoustic duo show to Nashville's City Winery and left the very appreciative audience hungry for more. Warren Haynes with Billy and The Kids
The 26th Annual Christmas Jam presented by Warren Haynes returned to the US Cellular Center in Asheville, North Carolina for what was unpredictably one of the most diverse events in the show’s long history.  The night was a mixed bag full of musical collaborations and musical styles.  2014’s event was chock full tributes.  The musicians paid homage to rock and roll legends throughout the night, especially Phish, The Beatles, and Neal Young.

Gov't Mule Halloween Extravaganza with Neil Young Tribute

Mulaween took place on October 31, 2014 at The Taft Theater with special guest Jackie Greene (touring member of Black Crowes, Mark Knopfler, BB King, Ratdog, Buddy Guy, etc). The first set included Mule songs and the second set was all Neil Young. The band played for three and a half hours and played 37 songs. They played every classic Neil Young song including "Hey Hey My My, Down by the River, Southern Man, Ohio, Heart of Gold, Rockin in the Free World, " and many more. The encore of "Cortez the Killer" was a crowd and personal favorite. Check out the setlist at Mule Net.

The Americana Fest in Nashville showcases such incredible talent every year that it is hard for any individual artist to really stand out. But 2014 was the year that Trigger Hippy stole the show.

The Black Crowes Return from Hiatus

Chris Robinson with The Black Crowes at Hangout Music Festival
Southern rockers The Black Crowes ended their two and a half year hiatus this spring with an extensive tour including a prime time slot Saturday night at The Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  This performance marked their return to The Hangout after their appearance at the first Hangout in 2010.  Their hiatus proved not to hinder the quality of their live shows.  In fact, it was quite the opposite.  They played with as much power and charisma as they ever have.  Vocalist Chris Robinson’s easily identifiable voice echoed over the beautifully sunny beach full of chanting swimsuit-clad fans.

“Just Exactly Perfect” An evening with Weir, Robinson, and Greene at the Ryman

By Butch Worrell
      Nashville, TN

The weather was perfect.  The venue was perfect. The audience was perfect.  So were Bob Weir, Chris Robinson, and Jackie Greene.

How often do you get three great artists like this together in the “Mother Church” of Americana music to perform their (and our)  favorite songs? Unfortunately only once. But if the universe were to give a second chance for those that missed this, it would truly be a miracle.

Trigger Hippy gets HOT!

The Basement was hot that Saturday night. Hottest ticket to have in Nashville. And it proved to have the hottest music in town as Trigger Hippy (Audley Freed, Steve Gorman, Nick Govrik, Jackie Greene, and Joan Osborne) put on an incredible show. Playing/singing their hearts out to the packed house, the sweat was literally flying off Joan as she danced and sang. The AC was so totally overwhelmed, the steamy Southern night for once seemed cool as we exited after the show, knowing we had experienced one of those shows to treasure always. It was a short tour but they promise to be back with more, I hope it’s soon.
