The G3 Tour 2018 consists of Joe Satriani (founder and creator), John Petrucci of Dream Theater, and Phil Collen of Def Leppard.  The G3 tour began in 1996 and is still going strong, some 20+ years later!

The 26^th Annual Christmas Jam presented by Warren Haynes returned to the US Cellular Center in Asheville, North Carolina for what was unpredictably one of the most diverse events in the show’s long history.  The night was a mixed bag full of musical collaborations and musical styles.  2014’s event was chock full tributes.  The musicians paid homage to rock and roll legends throughout the night, especially Phish, The Beatles, and Neal Young.

Once again, the Fall 2014 LEAF Festival came and left with a bang.  October’s event once again featured the best in family entertainment and culture in Western North Carolina.  Located in Black Mountain, NC, about 15 minutes from the cultural mecca of Asheville, the LEAF Festival is nestled beside the serene Lake Eden at Camp Rockmont.  Since its inception in 1995, LEAF has become well known for its diverse cultural atmosphere with family friendly vibes.  LEAF has been voted the best music festival for camping and kids two years running in the local periodical Mountain Xpress.  The event occurs in the spring and fall of every year and typically sells out every time.  Fall LEAF really lives up to its name, with the leaves on the trees on their way to changing into a beautiful palette of reds, golds, and yellows.  Despite the cold, the fall LEAF packed a solid punch of exceptionally good times for all in attendance.

As one of the most anticipated reunion shows of the summer, Steely Dan graced their fans in Asheville, North Carolina by playing a marvelous show at the world-renowned Biltmore Estate.  With the stage adjacent to the majestic Biltmore House with views overlooking the beautiful grounds and the epic Blue Ridge Mountains, the venue added a visual element to the concert experience that was second to none.  It had been drizzling all day, but to everyone’s avail the precipitation held off for the show which allowed for a truly stunning sunset over the westward mountains facing stage right.  The show was packed, featuring a sold out crowd of mostly older spectators that looked to be collectively reliving their youth.

Sunday July 27, 2014 brought the Soulshine Tour to the Uptown Amphitheater in Charlotte, NC. The tour is the brainchild of singer, songwriter, activist, Michael Franti. It provides a day of body wellness, music for the soul, and good vibes.

Moogfest 2014: The Advancement of Culture and Technology

After taking a break for 2013, Moogfest came back stronger than ever in Asheville, North Carolina for an epic five-day adventure of sound and art.  Opting to move from its usual position in late October to beautiful April, festival organizers have saved traveling patrons from the overpriced hotel rooms associated with Autumn in the mountains.  With the addition of the daytime events including lectures, talks, performances, and workshops, Moogfest has secured itself as an east coast commodity.  With the pioneer of electronic music and inventor the Moog Synthesizer, Bob Moog having called Asheville his home for many years, and with the Bob Moog Foundation and the Moog Factory both located in Asheville, it feels natural to bring such an amazing event back to the mountains of North Carolina.  Moogfest carries the strong theme of new technologies, futurism, and synth-heavy music.  Music lovers and geeks unite to watch over 100 musical performances and dozens of educational and interactive talks and workshops.

Moogfest 2014 is fast approaching to the legions of electronic music fans in the southeast.  It is taking place over five days from April 23-27 in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.  Since coming to Asheville, North Carolina in 2010, Moogfest has become the premier urban music festival, bringing the top of the line music and workshops to multiple venues around downtown Asheville.  Moogfest is named after the late Bob Moog, known as the inventor of electronic music and the Moog Synthesizer.  The festival is held in order to honor the creativity and inventiveness that Bob Moog spread throughout his life.

The annual Warren Haynes Christmas Jam returned to the US Cellular Center (formerly the Asheville Civic Center) in December for its 25^th year.  The event has one again expanded to two nights plus the Pre-Jam on Thursday night at the Orange Peel.  The Christmas Jam has been one of the integral events in Asheville’s annual musical calendar since its much smaller debut in 1989.  Every year features sought-after bands and musicians of all types collaborating together to create a musical experience like no other.  Local hero and Gov’t Mule front man Warren Haynes has manufactured an event that not only gives people the best in musical talent, but also gives back to the community.  All proceeds from the event go to the Habitat for Humanity, which is a non-profit organization that aims to assist people with affordable housing.  The X-mas Jam has become so popular over the years that tickets are guaranteed to sell out weeks before the event.

One of the founding fathers of gangsta rap, Ice Cube (O'Shea Jackson) brought his brutally honest style back to The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC with WC (William Loshawn Calhoun, Jr.) and crew.  Ice Cube has been on the scene for over 25 years, since blowing music fans out of the water in 1987 with the infamous rap group N.W.A. alongside fellow rap legend, Dr. Dre.  When he left N.W.A and become a solo artist in 1989, Ice Cube secured his status as one of the most controversial lyricists of all time.  He has been accused of being overly violent, racist, and misogynistic.  On the other hand, he has been labeled as being one of the greatest story-telling MC’s of all time.  He has collaborated with an uncountable list of other talent along the way.  Ice Cube has also recognized success with his clothing line, as well as acting, and screenwriting.  He starred in the early nineties classic, Boys In Da Hood.  O'Shea Jackson also co-wrote and starred in the classic Friday movie series, as well as had starring roles in other blockbuster hits such as Anaconda, Three Kings, and Barbershop.

Each year around Christmas time, Warren Haynes organized a benefit concert in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina.  The Warren Haynes Christmas Jam benefits Habitat for Humanity.  This year's performers include, Sheryl Crow, String Cheese Incident, Blind Boys of Alabama, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Warren Haynes Band.

Moog Music Factory

Concert Photos Magazine takes you on an inside tour of Moog Music Inc. factory in downtown Asheville, North Carolina.  Electronic and musical pioneer Bob Moog left a legacy of inventions that changed the progression of modern music.  Bob Moog's genius spearheaded to the world portable analog synthesizers among other creations.  Tonight starts the third annual Moogfest festival in Asheville which features many genres of musicians who utilize Moog Music's instruments and other sound equipment.

Rogers Waters has resurrected Pink Floyd's The Wall for a 2012 tour.  Well noted for being an extravagant performance of historic rock and roll combined with top-notch theatrical effects, Roger Waters' The Wall Live tour has amazed fans in four continents across the globe.  This is the first time since 1990 that the full album has been performed by the band or its members.

Willie Nelson Hand Injury After Bust in Kenansville, NC Delays Tour - Asheville, North Carolina Show Postponed

Willie Nelson's bass player Dan Edward "Bee" Spears and 5 others were cited for marijuana and/or moonshine charges by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Officers while Willie Nelson's tour bus was parked outside the Kenansville, NC venue where Wille Nelson & Family were scheduled to perform yesterday evening.

At the same time, Willie Nelson's left hand began to hurt him.  His left hand was operated on in 2006 to treat carpel tunnel syndrome. Willie has asserted through his publicist and his daughter that it is because of his injured had that the shows have been postponed. 
Willie Nelson's concert in Asheville is being rescheduled with new date to be announced soon.  With the half foot of snow and icy conditions expected tonight in the mountains of North Carolina, postponing tonight's show was not a bad idea.
