Nashville City Winery was kind enough to host a GD50 show of their own before the main event featuring the New Riders of the Purple Sage.. Before headed up to Chicago to do their “psychedelic last supper” show the New Riders of the Purple Sage played a show in Nashville which featured 3 generations of Grateful Dead influenced musicians.

The Heartless Bastards Come Home to The Woodward Theater

The Heartless Bastards played a two night run at The Woodward Theater last Thursday and Friday night. The band is on tour promoting their new album Restless Ones. The band sounded better than ever and are becoming one of Austin's big performers. Erika belted out all the classics and many new tracks. The HB's are on their way out west to play Pickathon in Portland, OR and then continue the tour down south.

Tedeschi Trucks with Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings at PNC Pavillion

Tedeschi Trucks put on a great night of music for a near sold out crowd. Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings brought a lot of energy to the evening as well and had the audience up out of their seats and groovin. Check them out on their summer tour and at several great festivals including Lockin.

It was the worst Nashville winter in years and as the Jack Pearson Trio began to play it was snowing again. Mayor Dean had urged everyone to stay off the roads that night but for Jack's loyal fans that meant nothing.

My Morning Jacket's Two Night Run at The Palace

Jacket is on tour again promoting their new album, The Waterfall. They played a great set last night at The Palace, which is one of the coolest venues in the country as far as visual aesthetics and great sound. Floating Action opened the show and put on a great performance. They play another show at The Palace tonight which will have several surprises in store, according to Jim James. I got to shoot directly for the band last night, which was exciting as I think they are one of the top touring live bands in the world. Check out Jacket on their US Tour or many festivals. MMJ will headline Forecastle this year, which I will be working. They have also already sold out their Red Rocks Amphitheater show. Check out more info about them and some of my tour photos of MMJ at www.mymorningjacket.com..

Hozier with Dawes at The Horseshoe

Multi-Grammy award winning Hozier played with Dawes at The Horseshoe this week. Hozier has been on a non-stop World Tour with their winning album and song "Take Me To Church." I didn't know what to expect from this young Irish band but they sounded good and had the place sold out! They are all in their early 20's and finding success very quickly. Dawes played a great show as usual and definitely had a solid fan base there for them as well.
