When you go to see and hear 80's artists perform you sort of have to put your ears in your heart and hope for the best. On this particular evening that wasn't necessary as both Midge Ure and Paul Young did a fantastic job of entertaining the crowd with the hits from their careers.

The Plaza Live in Orlando is an intimate venue where every seat in the house has a great view and excellent sound. The staff there is very accommodating, the seats are comfortable, and on this evening the air was charged with excitement for the show the guests were about to enjoy.

First up was Midge Ure who seamlessly seared through his set with superb guitar work and vocals that were as strong as they were back in the 80's. Ure appears to be someone who could be your neighbor, but once he plugs in his guitar and steps up to the mic you know that isn't quite the case. Gone is the hair and the 80's clothes but what remains is underrated talent and extreme musical passion.

After Ure's riveting set, 80's icon Paul Young came on stage to thrill the crowd with hit after hit from his music catalog. Although his voice is not quite the same as it was, it is still quite strong and he masterfully re-keyed the music to suit his range. Young is a very polished performer and he sings with unbridled emotion. Flanked on one side by a stellar Stevie Ray Vaughan-inspired guitar player and surrounded by other great touring musicians Young put on a show that left everyone wanting more... and more they got!

For his encore Young came back on stage joined by Ure and together they did a fantastic cover of Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town." Many people may not know that Ure played with Thin Lizzy for a bit when Gary Moore left the band.
