90's alternative rock band Collective Soul has become one of my favorite touring bands to see, hear, and photograph. The energy that they bring to the stage is contagious and it's very obvious that this band truly enjoys performing! This was my third time covering them in the last couple of years and each time has had the excitement of the very first time I saw them many years ago.

This particular show was the inaugural offering for what looked to be a promising concert series at  Busch Gardens' Food and Wine Festival.
The evening was very chilly for this time of year in Florida but that didn't stop thousands of fans from cramming into the outdoor venue to rock out with the band.

Although the entire band is made up of stellar musicians, lead singer, guitarist, and keyboardist Ed "E" Roland is so animated that you can't help keeping your eyes on him. He owns the receptive crowd from the first few seconds he hits the stage and everyone sings along to most songs.

There aren't many bands that I've already seen recently that I'm willing to drive two hours each way to cover, but this band is in the top few. Collective Soul is a very tight band and they play all their hits to perfection.
Although the venue has artists booked for one hour sets, Collective Soul put on a full 80 minute show. The fans loved every minute of it and although they were appreciative, I'm sure that  they could listen to this band all night long.

Don't miss this band when they come to a venue near you. It may well be one of your favorite concert events too!
